What is ACA aka ObamaCare & Marketplace?

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) aka Obamacare, is a healthcare reform law passed in the United States in 2010. It enacted policies to make healthcare more accessible and inexpensive. One of its components is the Health Insurance Marketplace (Exchange), where people can shop for and purchase ACA-compliant health insurance policies. The Marketplace provides income-based subsidies to help those who qualify to afford coverage. It allows individuals and families to obtain and purchase health insurance, especially if they cannot access employer-sponsored plans or Medicaid.
